The
Torchmate unit needed to produce metal shapes is shown in
the photo to the right. Here, the owner has mounted a small
laptop computer on the end of the machine. The electronics shown
next to the computer are included with the system.
A Hypertherm Powermax 600 plasma cutter is shown here at the lower right. It plugs into any electric dryer
type 220 volt outlet. You will also need an air compressor,
which can be purchased at low cost from a Home Depot, Sears, etc. |

You get your choice of a manual plasma torch, that
can be used independently of your Torchmate machine, or a vertical
machine torch, designed specifically for CNC use. The torch
height adjustment is different for each of these torches, as can be
seen here. |
